Booking Conditions

 

Please read these carefully as bookings with Archaeologist Guided Tours are accepted only in accordance with the terms and conditions set out below. When you make a booking with us you are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.

 

PAYMENTS FOR PRIVATE TOURS:

 

Full payment is required at the time of booking. We accept payment by BACS or PayPal payment.

 


PRIVATE TOUR CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS:

 

You must inform us as soon as possible if you wish to cancel a tour or other booking in whole or in part, returning to us any tickets already issued. On cancellation we will charge you a percentage of the total price as follows:

• Cancellation notified and tickets returned more than 28 days prior to  departure - 20% of the total value

• Cancellation notified and tickets returned between 27 and 15 days prior to departure - 50% of the total value

• Cancellation notified and tickets returned within 14 days of departure - 100% of the total value. Date amendments are not possible within 28 days of travel and will be subject to cancellation charges as above.

 

IF WE CANCEL YOUR TOUR:

 

If we have to cancel the whole tour before departure because of unusual, unforeseen circumstances beyond our control or Underbooking, then we will refund all money already paid by you but you will not be entitled to any compensation for the loss of the tour. Underbooking is the situation in which the minimum number of bookings required to run a tour is not met. We will notify you no later than seven days before departure for our day tours. Please note that we cannot be held responsible for any consequential loss you may suffer as a result of the cancellation of your holiday, for example, travel expenses etc.

 

INSURANCE:

 

we  carry  tour  operators’  professional  indemnity and  public  liability insurance  as required by UK law. We strongly recommend that you take out appropriate insurance to cover you in the event you have to cancel your holiday for any reason. If you are resident in the UK we will send you an insurance application form with your booking confirmation.

 

CHANGES:

 

If you wish to make any changes to your holiday arrangements,  we will do  our best to accommodate you, provided you notify us of the change at least 90 days before your arrival date.  Any change is subject to availability and also to payment of   any associated costs of the change. If you cannot take your holiday you may find another person replace you, provided they take the holiday exactly as booked; otherwise, our normal cancellation charges will apply. You, as transferor of the holiday, and the transferee shall be jointly and separately liable to us for the payment of the balance due.

 

SPECIAL REQUESTS:

 

please inform us of any special requests you may have at the time of booking. We will do our best to meet them, however we have no liability to you if such requirements are not met.

 

HEALTH AND FITNESS:

 

you must be reasonably fit and healthy to take part in one of our tours, which involve  some  walking  and  may  include  travel  over  rough terrain.  If  you  have  any  reservations  regarding  your  fitness  for  a  tour,  please  seek medical advice and consult us in advance. Whilst we will make every effort to accommodate you, we can accept no liability for your inability to take full part in the tour.

 

PAYMENT PROTECTION:

 

for your protection and to meet our responsibilities under the terms of  the Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992, all payments made by you will be held separately  in  our  Client  Account until  completion  of  your holiday.

 

COMPLAINTS

 

Should you have any complaints during your tour, our staff will do their best to rectify your problem. If we cannot resolve your complaint at the time, you should email info@archaeologistguidedtours.com within 28 days of the end of the tour/holiday.
