Why We Started Archaeologist Guided Tours

Archaeologist Guided Tours was founded from a passion for archaeology and a belief that Britain's extraordinary historic places deserve to be experienced through the eyes of those who dedicate their lives to studying them. Every year, new discoveries transform our understanding of the past, yet too often the richness of these remarkable stories remain hidden behind simplified narratives and conventional sightseeing tours.

We founded Archaeologist Guided Tours to redefine what a heritage experience could be. Our experiences are led exclusively by professional archaeologists who have excavated ancient sites, published research, lectured at universities and continue to contribute to archaeological discovery today. Rather than following a rehearsed script, we encourage conversation, curiosity and exploration, sharing not only the established history of each site but also the latest research, debates and discoveries that continue to reshape our understanding of Britain's prehistoric and historic landscapes.

Our ambition has always been simple: to inspire a genuine connection with the past. We want every guest to leave with a deeper understanding and a lasting sense of wonder, with memories that remain long after the journey has ended.
